Directions
From the East
Take the Tavistock exit (A386) from the A30, proceed along this road until you get to Lydford, take the right turn into the village, following the road through the village past the Castle Inn and St Petroc’s Church. Keep on this road past the main entrance to Lydford Gorge.
After a mile and a half you reach a sharp right hand bend with a bridge over the old railway line. 80yds further on is the second entrance to Lydford Gorge. The entrance to Whitelady House is immediately before the National Trust entrance identified by two large white stone gate posts.
From the West
Leave the A30 at Lifton (turn onto the old A30). Follow this road road through Lifton until you reach Bidlake (approx 7 miles) here take a right turn signposted Lydford. Follow this narrow road until you reach the centre of the village at the T junction turn right. Follow the road through the village past the Castle Inn and St Petroc’s Church. Keep on this road past the main entrance to Lydford Gorge.
